The Center for Engineering Diversity and Outreach (CEDO) programs are a key component in keeping Michigan a leader in developing highly sought-after engineering talent. The diversity of the student body at Michigan Engineering—now among the most diverse engineering schools nationwide—enhances the intellectual experience for all students on campus, and creates an atmosphere for learning that lives up to the Michigan tradition of “Leaders and Best.”
Recognizing the importance of diversity of thought and the modern imperative for cross-cultural competence, we first seek to attract a diverse population of students to engineering, and then to ensure that these students are fully included in the college experience and that all students have the opportunity to experience success within a diverse college.
